Caramelized Onion Dip
Instructions
- Peel the onions and thinly slice.
- In a large saucepan over a medium heat, melt the butter and add olive oil.
- Add the onions, sprinkle with sugar and salt.
- Continue to cook and stir and saute for 10 minutes Translucent.
- Add wine and stir.
- Continue to cook for 20 – 30 minutes until golden brown and caramelized.
- Transfer onions to cutting board and coarsely chop. Cool to room temperature. Reserve ½ cup.
- In a medium bowl combine the cream cheese and sour cream. Add in Worcestershire sauce and pepper.
- Mix the prepared onions.
- Season to taste with salt and black pepper.
- Spoon into bowl and top with reserved onions and cut chives. .
- Bake: Preheat oven 350 degrees
- To Serve: Arrange Rockenwagner Soft Pretzel Bites on baking sheet tray.
- Bake for 4-6 minutes – toasty! Dip warm bites into dressing! Enjoy
