Caramelized Onion Dip

Instructions

  1. Peel the onions and thinly slice.
  2. In a large saucepan over a medium heat, melt the butter and add olive oil.
  3. Add the onions, sprinkle with sugar and salt.
  4. Continue to cook and stir and saute for 10 minutes Translucent.
  5. Add wine and stir.
  6. Continue to cook for 20 – 30 minutes until golden brown and caramelized.
  7. Transfer onions to cutting board and coarsely chop. Cool to room temperature. Reserve ½ cup.
  8. In a medium bowl combine the cream cheese and sour cream. Add in Worcestershire sauce and pepper.
  9. Mix the prepared onions.
  10. Season to taste with salt and black pepper.
  11. Spoon into bowl and top with reserved onions and cut chives. .
  12. Bake: Preheat oven 350 degrees
  13. To Serve: Arrange Rockenwagner Soft Pretzel Bites on baking sheet tray.
  14. Bake for 4-6 minutes – toasty! Dip warm bites into dressing! Enjoy
